Match Report - Provided by John Williams
After a long winter break the Sunday football finally returned. With an exceptional turnout everyone seemed up for the game and we're itching to get stuck in.
1st Half.
The game started positively for Inter with Kane getting on to a few long balls and putting Chorlton under pressure from the start. After such a good start Inter fell behind to Chorlton’s first shot on goal. This knocked Inters confidence and before they could get back level they were 2-0 down.
Inter carried on pressing looking for that goal to kick start the comeback and seemed to be controlling much of the game. After a number of wasted free kicks inter could not find the goal they needed and but still ending the half in confident mood that they could get back into the game. HT 2-0
2nd Half
Second half started much the same with Inter pressing for the goal that the effort deserved. When inter didn’t manage to clear the ball from their area, letting through Chorlton’s striker and Paddy going in for the tackle there was only going to be one conclusion. Paddy challenge in the box =PENALTY!
Chorlton calmly stepped up to take the pen and slotted it passed Scott. 3-0. Inter heads didn’t not go down and the whole team kept on working but before Inter could get back into it Chorlton hit them with a sucker punch 4-0 and down went Inters heads.
This called for drastic action so Fran called upon the highly caffeine / lucozade fuelled Scots man to give the team a lift, and what an impact he made. After running rings round the Chorlton defence (Without the ball) confusing them with his wee Scottish comments this gave Kane more space for John to whipped in an inch perfect pass for Kane to neatly slot pass the keeper. 4-1 The Comeback had begun.
This lifted the team and everyone got stuck in, challenging for every 50-50. Chorlton didnt know what hit them and they were on the back foot. After a few wide long range shots form Steve and Paddy, Mackay came close and was unlucky not to make it two for Didsbury.
Inter Didsbury fought right until the end but the comeback didn’t materialise and disappointingly the game ended 4-1.
Summary
A few decent passages of play in the game by Inter but the fact we hadn’t played as a team for a while showed and passing though most of the game was poor.
