| After an inspiring team talk from Fran and Steve the second half started off exactly how we had hoped for, and a strong John Williams shot caused the Huntsman keeper to spill the ball for a lethal Halsall to reap the benefits, tapping home into the empty net, 5-1.
This pattern was to continue and Williams was rewarded for his constant running throughout the 90 minutes when his "goal-bound" deflected shot ended up behind the goalkeeper, 6-1.
This was where the goals would cease for the rest of the game, however this could not be said for the chances.
A John 'Paddy' Patterson header somehow managed to fire past the opposite post when it seemed harder to miss.
A shuffle in the pack saw Paddy get the chance to team up with the threatening Navid in midfield. Steve went off and was replaced by Mike Pinnock.
After the changes proved to be a solid as the previous defensive regime, there was simple replacements as a new strike line was introduced, Alex Mather and Paul Mackay entered the fray.
A flurry of chances be it half chances, opposition errors and more impressively stunning Inter passing play and link up.
What was noticeable was the early ball that was being played by everyone throughout the team throughout the game.
Another clever through ball from Navid sent Mackay off and running who opted to go for the early strike where the simple pass into the box for Alex and Hamid seemed to be the more suitable option. Hindsight as the ball soared over the bar.
As the game neared the close an inocuious challenge on navid which seemed to enrage the opposition as they felt he had dived proved to be a talking point as he was blatantly kicked in one of the last points of the game. The whistle blew, first 3 points! |
